Rawalpindi · December 2022

The association invited us to talk about costing and pricing.

The Dispensing Opticians Association of Rawalpindi and Islamabad held a workshop on the one number every optical shop argues about — what a job actually costs, and what to charge for it. We sponsored it, we exhibited at it, and at the end they handed us a shield.

The story continued: in October 2025 the association put us back on its expo floor — and handed us an appreciation award.

The shield is made out to LitGrey Technologies — that is us. LitGrey Technologies is the company; Optician Dynamics is the product it builds for optical retail. Same team, same Islamabad office, same phone number. The association knew us by the company name in 2022; you know us by the product name today.

Why this one

We didn't sponsor a banner. We sponsored the session about the money.

Ask any optician in Pindi what keeps him up: not marketing, not footfall — margin. What did that frame really cost once you count the lens, the coating, the lab, the rework and the discount the customer talked you into at the counter?

That is the exact question a costing screen answers. So when the association ran a workshop titled "Cost calculation & Pricing methods", it wasn't a marketing opportunity — it was our subject.

We took a booth, put the software on real machines, and let owners break it for a day.

Our logo went up beside the names already on your shelf.

A software company has to earn its place in this trade. On the day, the association's backdrop carried LitGrey Technologies alongside the lens houses, contact-lens brands and labs that Pakistani opticians buy from every week.

At the booth

Opticians like you already stood here and tried it.

Not a boardroom pilot. Shop owners — the men who open the shutter themselves — at the stand all day, asking what happens when a lens comes back wrong, and what a job really costs once the lab is paid.

What the shield says

We'd rather quote it than describe it.

Dispensing Opticians Association

"Cost Calculation & Pricing Method"
Presented to
LitGrey Technologies
held on Dec 26, 2022 at PC Hotel Rawalpindi.

LitGrey Technologies is the company behind Optician Dynamics. The association presented the shield to the company; Optician Dynamics is the product we had on the screens at the booth that day.

Beyond that, the quote above is the full text and the full claim. It is a sponsor's shield from a workshop — not a certification, not an endorsement of our product, and we won't dress it up as one. In this trade everybody knows everybody, and an inflated claim comes back within the week.

Straight answers

What this does — and doesn't — mean.

Yes. LitGrey Technologies — the company that builds Optician Dynamics — was a sponsor and exhibitor at the Dispensing Opticians Association Rawalpindi & Islamabad workshop on cost calculation and pricing methods, held on 26 December 2022 at PC Hotel Rawalpindi. The association presented LitGrey Technologies with a commemorative shield. This is a sponsor’s shield from a workshop; it is not a certification, an accreditation, or an endorsement of the software. The community is organised nationally today as the Opticians Association of Pakistan (opticians.pk).

What came out of it

The costing workshop became a till screen.

The pricing and costing problems the association asked us to talk about in 2022 are the ones this screen exists to solve — prescription on the left, stock and margin on the right, FBR-compliant receipt at the end.

Since then we've been building — quietly, with a few shops.

This was 2022. We are still here, still in Islamabad, and still small on purpose — a limited founding-customer intake rather than a land grab. If you were in that room, or you know someone who was, ask them about us before you talk to us.

Attending or organising an association event in 2026? We would rather sponsor a session on something that matters than take out an advertisement. Write to us.

The host body

The workshop was run by the dispensing opticians' associations of Rawalpindi and Islamabad — the professional community organised nationally today as the Opticians Association of Pakistan, a not-for-profit professional body. We don't speak for the association — for anything about OAP itself, see opticians.pk.

Where we stand

We built the association's website. opticians.pk was developed by LitGrey Technologies.

OAP's Chairman is also a customer. Khalid Sohail Gulzari owns Glassmith, one of our founding customers — worth knowing before you read his testimonial elsewhere on this site.
